This week is all about Estrella! Estrella just finished up her second summer working with us while out on break. She currently goes to Galax High and will be graduating this current school year! Her hobbies include reading, drawing, hiking, and eating.
How and/or why did you start working at Meadow Creek Dairy?
“I guess I really don’t have a good reason why I decided to work here. My parents have worked here for as long as I can remember. I grew up playing on this very farm. So when I turned 16 I thought why not. At first I really wasn’t interested, but after 2 summers I have learned a lot about the cheese industry and am honestly really amazed at all the things you can learn from cheese. Even though food science isn’t my passion I think it’s a cool career major, and I appreciate everything I have learned here at MCD.”
What is your favorite food & beverage?
“Favorite food is hard because I really do enjoy a lot of things. But I think it’s wings or sushi. Beverage is for sure pink lemonade.”
What goals do you have for the next 5 years?
“I hope to have finished college and have my own little beauty salon.”
What movie scared you to death as a kid?
“I didn’t really watch scary movies due to me always being scared but I think a movie that really traumatized me has to be “Messengers 2: The Scarecrow”. For the longest time I was terrified of cornfields.”
What do you look forward to the most about graduating high school?
“Not having to wake up early and no more math homework.”
